Tuscaloosa Teen’s Dream to Be Kept Alive Through New Not-For-Profit

While going through her own cancer battle, 18-year-old Angel Eaton had a vision of hosting a yearly event for other children in Alabama fighting cancer.

Last year she was able to bring smiles to a few of those faces when she planned and hosted a carnival. Angel was in the planning stages of a second party for 2016 when she sadly lost her fight.

Angel's Hope is a not-for-profit started by her friends and family that will focus on three key areas -- Moments of Hope, Gifts of Hope and Hope for the Future.

Moments of Hope - The organization is already in the beginning stages of a party which is being planned according to the notes Angel left in her notebook. In the future the not-for-profit will also work to provide smaller events for those battling childhood cancer which could be an end-of-chemo party, birthday party, Sweet 16, homecoming dance, prom, etc.

Gifts of Hope - Angel's Hope will work to collect food, toiletry items and toys/gift cards throughout the year. These items will be delivered to the hematology/oncology unit at Children's of Alabama.

Hope for the Future - The Live Big, Love Hard Angel Eaton Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to a student who exhibits the same characteristics that Angel possessed -- a passion for living and a desire to help others. The scholarship will be awarded to a senior from her Alma mater, Hillcrest High School.
