Tuscaloosa Residents, Add This Song to Your Holiday Playlist
The holiday season is in full swing. With it comes the return of so many classic holiday songs. "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer", "Frosty The Snowman", "The 12 Days of Christmas", just to name a few.
Many artists have recorded some terrific ones as well. Who could forget "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms? Or for a more somber tone, "Last Christmas" by Wham! And of course, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey receives airplay almost the second Halloween ends.
But while I love most all Christmas Songs, there's one that I certainly don't hear enough during the season. I believe it's time that we shine a light on a song by one of the greatest artists of all time.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Elton John's "Step Into Christmas."
This song is absolutely wonderful on so many levels. The beat, the bells in the background. And of course, Elton John himself.
I'm so amazed this song doesn't get played more. It's very cheerful and overall just puts me into a mood to wish for snow.
Also, it's Elton John! Come on how can you not like this?!?
It's a bit sad though, as probably never get to see Elton John perform this song live. Since he's technically retired and I missed my chance to see him perform live in Birmingham a while back.
But luckily, we live in an era where you can hear songs anytime, anywhere. So you and I can listen to this song whenever we want!
