We are closely watching the severe weather potential across southwest portions of our Townsquare Media coverage area. There is the possibility that “strong to severe thunderstorms will move southeast, primarily across Central and Southern Mississippi. Some of this activity could graze our southwest counties during the afternoon and evening,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has portions of the Townsquare Media coverage regions between two risk levels for severe weather. James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist notes that the “SPC has defined a "slight risk" (level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms today for the southwest counties of the state, with a "marginal risk" (level 1/5) as far west as Hamilton, Centreville, and Geneva. Storms in this part of the state this afternoon will be capable of producing strong gusty winds and some hail. Showers will be hard to find for areas north and east of Birmingham today.”
