Canadian combo guard Joshua Primo has committed to Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide. The 6'6" guard out of Royal Crown High School in Toronto Canada becomes the highest rated member of the Alabama 2020 signing class for Oats. Primo is a five-star prospect, the seventh overall combo guard and the 27th rated recruit overall in the 2020 class according to 247Sports.

Primo reclassified to the 2020 recruiting class in February in order to accelerate his collegiate career. Primo made his final decision between the Crimson Tide and the Creighton Bluejays. With the departure of John Petty Jr. and Kira Lewis Jr. Primo has an opportunity to log big minutes for Alabama in 2021.

Primo, as a 17-year old, averaged 11 minutes, 4.2 points, .8 rebounds and .8 assists for Team Canada in last summer's FIBA U19 World Cup. His best game came against Team Senegal, scoring eight points and notching three assists in 18 minutes of action. In February, Primo earned recognition for his strong performance at the Basketball Without Boarders camp where he was named to the BWB All-Star team.

Primo joins his Team Canada teammate, four-star power forward Keon Ambrose-Hylton, in committing to the Crimson Tide. Oats now successfully has two fresh faces in the program for the 2020 season. It remains to be seen if Oats will bring in another player or two out of high school, the transfer portal or junior college.
