A class of second-grade students at New Life Christian School of Excellence in Bessemer has gone viral. A quick classroom video has garnered thousands of views in just a few days.

Candra Bethune's class is now considered viral for their 15-second video imitating members from the greek letter organization Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

In an exclusive interview with 105.1 The Block, Bethune described how the video came about. "I was showing them different videos about HBCU's and then I started showing them about greeks and they just went berserk!"

Bethune said, "We were actually doing Read Across America week...It was 'Oh the Places You'll Go,' the college edition."

The video has since been shared across social media with over 10k views, and close to 1k likes on the original video.

 

Watch The Yard shared the video on their Tik Tok page and it has since gained close to 300k views.

 

HBCUBuzz on Instagram shared the video and it has close to 200k views.

 

 

Bethune and her class dressed up in college apparel for the special day. Some schools that were worn included Stillman College, The University of Alabama, Alabama State University, and Miles College.

 

While describing how the video came about, Bethune says the young girl in the front of the line encouraged the rest of the girls to mimic the routine.

"They got everything together and then came back to me.," says Bethune. "Miss Bethune Miss Bethune, Look what we learned!" That's how the girls grabbed her attention before asking her to record them, Candra Bethune said during the interview.
