Tombigbee River Is Expected To Peak
Don Hartley, News Director for Townsquare Media share with us information about our recent flooding scenarios for our area. Please continue to stay weather aware.
The Tombigbee River is expected to peak less than a foot under major flood designation during the day on Friday. That is 15 feet above flood stage at the Bevill L&D in Pickensville. But the river is not expected to recede below flood stage until this weekend.
The flooding has pushed water into the Rivermont Subdivision of Pickensville in Pickens County. Similar flooding took place this time last year. The Pickens County Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the situation.
All rivers in West Alabama are at moderate to major flooding levels. A River Flood Warning continues.
Tuscaloosa has recorded 21 measurable rain days since the first of the year and more than a half foot of rain since last week.
