The Jasper Police Department, the Walker County Sheriff's Office and Jasper firefighters responded to the hospital and secured the building, finding no dangerous devices or materials on the property.
In a Tuesday night Facebook post, the Jasper Police Department said during the course of their investigation, they found threats had also been made at Cullman Regional Medical Center and a fast food restaurant in Sumiton, Alabama.
Police were able to identify a 14-year-old juvenile as their primary suspect in the case. The teen is a student at a school in Walker County and is in juvenile detention awaiting official charges.
“I appreciate the hard work from our officers and investigators, as well as the assistance from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office,” said Jasper Police Chief J. C. Poe. “Our patrol officers did an outstanding job of responding to the hospital and locking everything down. I’m glad we were able to bring this to a close and identify a suspect so quickly.”
