Byrne discussed Coach Nick Saban's new contract extension, beer at Bryant-Denny stadium and the plan to replace Coach Saban one day.

There was a time, many years ago, when major acts played at Bryant-Denny stadium.

The stadium hosted shows in the early 1980's and the band Alabama played in 1992, after the Spring game, as the last live music event held at Bryant-Denny stadium.

This morning, Byrne spoke with Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa's Steve & DC (WFFN-FM 95.3) and answered the question on concerts at Bryant-Denny...as in WHY are there none held at the venue?

The smart folks at U of A are more than capable of figuring out a solution to this problem.

Byrne said they needed more help loading these massive stages and equipment pieces into the stadium.

Why not recruit students to help form a crew to handle the heavy lifting in setting up these major tour productions?

Greg Byrne also answered questions about Coach Saban, including how he gets paid and his involvement in picking his successor.

Well, he dodged the pay question of direct deposit or a check. I can't imagine Coach Saban getting a check every two weeks.

On his replacement, Byrne simply said that Coach Saban is too focused on the now to think about it.

Let us all hope and pray things stay that way for many years to come....or at least until 2030!
