Weather Update for Thursday, October 17, 2019

Today, there will be patchy fog before 9 am.  After the fog passes, it will be turning to mostly sunny skies with a high near 69.  Tonight, you can expect partly cloudy conditions with a low around 48.  Tomorrow, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 72 and the evening will be mostly cloudy with a low around 55.

Saturday:  We are watching the movement of the tropical low that is moving inland from the Gulf.  How much rain we will get and when it will arrive is dependent on the timing the tropical low.  The National Hurricane Center has reported that the “formation chance through 48 hours is high and 70%.”

At this time, for the Alabama and Tennessee game this Saturday night, there is the possibility of rain.  However, this is dependent on the tropical low.  However, it will be a very exciting game with an 8 p.m. kickoff, and Bryant-Denny Stadium will be able to showcase the new LED light system.  According to Michael Casagrande from AL.com, “the lights are also designed to improve the experience for those watching on TV with improved brightness matching high definition displays. There’s also the capability to change colors and sync the lighting to music.”

Have a great Thursday, @MaryKRadio
