The city of Northport is getting a new Waffle House on Rose Boulevard near County High School, Councilman Jeff Hogg announced Friday.

Hogg represents the city's District 5 and co-chairs its retail committee, which seeks to entice new restaurants and retailers to set up shop in Northport.

"I am very excited to see Waffle House expand in this growth area," Hogg told Townsquare Media Monday morning. "By generating additional tax dollars, creating new jobs and meeting the demands of the area to attract new business, this is a win-win for District 5."

Hogg said he wasn't sure when the new diner will open, but would release those details when he gets them. Read Hogg's full announcement on Facebook below, and check back here for more information about the city of Northport as it develops.
