New Coffee Shop Opens in Downtown Tuscaloosa
There's a new place to get your tea (and coffee) in T-Town! UPerk is now open on 20th Avenue in Downtown Tuscaloosa. The coffee shop is serving up espresso, lattes, cold brew, and so much more.
UPerk is part of First Presbyterian Church's UKirk Ministry. They have partnered with Seeds Coffee Company, Tea-Town, Heritage House Coffee & Tea, and Katie Farms to offer a menu full of delicious options. It's a special place, as UPerk will be a not-for-profit spot.
UPerk aims to be a place where the community can gather together; here's more from their official Facebook page:
UPerk will be more than just a downtown coffee shop. It will be a community. It will be a place where all kinds of people will gather to study, to talk, to listen, and to figure out ways to make our city an even better place than it already is. It’ll be a not-for-profit enterprise that will seek partnerships with various agencies and initiatives here in town. It will be a place outrageous in its generosity and never-ending in its hospitality. It’d be the epicenter of movements seeking peace and justice for those in our neighborhood.
UPerk will have a Grand Opening Celebration tomorrow (Tuesday, August 22); get more info by checking out the event's Facebook page HERE.
