Mostly Sunny Today But Rain Is On The Way

Weather Update for Thursday, November 21, 2019

You can expect mostly sunny skies today with a high near 70, with cloud coverage increasing by this evening.  Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low around 52.  Friday will be cloudy with a 60% of showers that continue into Saturday.  At this time, there is no threat of severe weather.  Everyone’s mind is on Thanksgiving and the holiday season.  We are a week out, but it is looking like the weather update at the time of this blog is that Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday should have highs in the mid-60s with a mix of sun and clouds.

Don’t forget we are still in our time period of the Fall Severe Weather Season, which usually runs November and December.  Be sure to download your favorite Townsquare Media’s app, as we will keep you up to date with all weather conditions.

Since we are in our Fall Severe Weather Season, I find that we tend to forget the differences in weather terminology.  I recommend remembering the difference between a Tornado Watch and a Warning by the terms of the National Weather Service.

Also, for a more in-depth approach, a Tornado Watch gives you the information to provide you with a heads up, those conditions are favorable for the development of a tornado.  Also, this is your time to be prepared to act quickly.  A Tornado Warning is when a tornado has been spotted in person or on the radar.  This means danger to life and property and you should implement your safety plans.
