Recently, our friends at Visit Tuscaloosa asked a panel of Tuscaloosa food experts who has the best burger in the city. Who's on that panel of experts you may ask??? Their Facebook comment section!!

Seriously, I would only trust the word of people who actually KNOW about Tuscaloosa to give the most accurate response to the best burger in the city.

The results are in and they were able to narrow the list down to 5 places in Tuscaloosa in no particular order.

Local Roots

What once began as a food truck has evolved into a Tuscaloosa staple. "We've officially moved on from the food truck business, but we wouldn't be where we are without that food truck," Owner Dustin Spruill said when it was announced they'd be opening a second location in Birmingham. "The pandemic forced our hand, but the plan was always to move on from that model and we've done that."

Avenue Pub

The burgers must be great because Avenue Pub announced they'd be opening another location in West Alabama. This will be their third location and its goal is to " fill a need for more excellent restaurants north of the river."

Oasis Bar & Grill

If you've never tried the burger at Hooligan's and need a review, a recent Yelp review by Ryan F. says, "Their burger is probably the best one I've had since I've lived in Tuscaloosa."

Southern Ale House

This north-of-the-river scratch kitchen is said to be hitting its stride in its 10th year in business. The reviews are amazing and from the looks of it, the food is too!

Hooligans Restaurant

With a 4-star rating on Yelp, and an overall 4-and-a-half-star rating on Google, this 15th Street restaurant has food that people live to talk about. It seems like the burgers are high on that list.
