The Horror Tuscaloosa is bringing scares to all of West Alabama and opened for their second Spooky Season last Friday.

The haunted house's director, Cody Minor, said he was contracted by owner Brad Taylor last year after he decided Tuscaloosa was a great fit for hosting a haunted house.

"Brad thought he should look into bringing one because he had the resources and the space," Minor said. "He contacted some people who then contacted me and another guy, who were a part of the United Cerebral Palsy Fright Factory crew, which was a charity haunted house, and he got us to build Horror."

Minor said the community responded well to having a local attraction, which made the decision to return come easy for the team members.

"We had great attendance last year. The main bunch of people involved with the haunted house loves to do it," Minor said. "It's a labor of love for us and we really love Halloween, we love scaring people, we love being creative, and we love having something in Tuscaloosa for people to do during the Halloween season."

The Horror Tuscaloosa can be found at 5477 Skyland Boulevard East in Cottondale and will host tours every Friday and Saturday throughout the month of October and will include special hours on October 30 and October 31.
