The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences has identified a body on University of Alabama property in Tuscaloosa as that of a 42-year-old local man missing since the end of August.

Lt. Jack Kennedy, the assistant commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said the deceased man has been identified as Patrick Tucker, and that "at this time no evidence has been discovered that would lead to this being anything other than an accident."

Tucker was found by utility workers on UA property on September 11th and was sent to the ADFS in Montgomery for an autopsy and identification.

Kennedy said the VCU has been in constant contact with the forensic experts in Montgomery and were alerted Thursday morning that a positive identification had been made.

Kennedy said there is no risk or threat to the University of Alabama or the community around it and said Tucker's death appears to have been accidental. He said no other details will be released at this time to maintain the privacy of the victim's family.
