The news came out last week that Gibson Brands Inc, makers of Gibson Guitars, could be headed towards bankruptcy. Gibson guitars are synonymous with Rock N' Roll, which are played by such legendary guitarists like; Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Ace Frehley (KISS), Angus Young (AC/DC),  Slash (Guns N' Roses), and plenty others. In case you missed that news, read the story HERE

As a guitar player myself, this is devastating news if Gibson becomes extinct. I remember as a teen when I first was learning Guitar, staring at my KISS posters on the wall, and wanting a Gibson Les Paul just like the one that Ace Frehley played. To this day, I DON'T have one like Ace's, but I do have a few Gibsons, (I DO have a guitar like Angus Young's though), and I love 'em!

In any event, I do hope they somehow avoid bankruptcy. Maybe, they re-organize, or maybe they get some smarter folks to steer the ship out of their current financial crisis. Or maybe, somebody takes over the company with a better business plan. Whatever the case, I don't want them to go away, because they have helped shape the sound of modern music for over half a century now.

Plus, whenever I'm not on the radio, I LOVE to rock my 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe....:-)
