Alabama Pediatric Products That Cause Death FDA Warns

As an adult, this hit way too close to home for me, as it will with many parents of preschool-age children.

There has been a major recall of products that we as adults use, but also pediatric products.

I wanted to begin by listing each and every item, but the list is so long that it was easier to just give you the link at the bottom.

Parents want the best for their kids. What could be better than to hand them a carton of organic chocolate milk? Well, today that could be the worst item to give them!

What about those of us that grab a quick protein-based on-the-go drink? Well, today we should be very concerned about that with the latest recalls.

Yes, that healthy choice of milk and our protein drinks can kill us…literally!

I, like most adults, don’t always have the time during the day to eat lunch. Sometimes that does happen. So it’s a liquid lunch day… So what is my go-to option?

Protein Shakes!!

Yes, I am guilty of grabbing those handy dandy protein shakes from my desk drawer.

Well, good to know that I have a desk drawer full of items that can kill me. Wow, here I thought I was being very adult-ish.

Premier Protein shakes, just one of the many products on the recall list, are being recalled because the FDA says the company did not meet commercial sterilization requirements and could be potentially contaminated with deadly organisms.

Yes, you read that, a deadly organism!

I know what you're thinking, that’s ok I can make myself a cup of coffee and completely skip the liquid lunch with just a caffeine boost.

That’s fine unless you enjoy oat milk in your cup. Yes, oat milk is also included in this recall.

So what could be in these products that can kill us? Of course, it’s organisms that I can’t even pronounce!

Cronobacter Sakazakii and Clostridium Botulinum.

So Cronobacter infections can make you sick. Those may cause fever, vomiting, and possibly urinary tract infections. Of course, if you have a compromised immune system or are an infant, this is when it becomes deadly.

Clostridium Botulinum causes a very serious illness, Botulism! This can damage the body's nerves which can lead to complications that may include death.

The FDA and Lyons Magnus have stated that no Clostridium Botulinum has been found in any of the recalled items, yet they recommend that you still should throw away any of the recalled products.

Can the universe hit me with another item that I love in this recall?

The universe said yes, hold my beer!

Kings Hawaiian Pretzel buns are on this list!

Now I know this is a very sad day for me, I can’t be the only Alabamian that is sad and angry right now.

With a major BBQ holiday coming up, are we not going to be able to enjoy a burger on a pretzel bun or those delicious pretzel bites they have as a snack…
