Alabama men's basketball will get a little extra practice time this August when the team takes a trip to Canada for three exhibition games.

Head coach Avery Johnson confirmed an earlier report by Cecil Hurt that the Crimson Tide will take advantage of the NCAA's travel rule and north this summer.

"We're looking to take a foreign trip again in August," Johnson told Wimp and Barry on Inside the Locker Room. "The plan is for us to go up to Canada. We'll float in between Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. We think, based on some of the other schools that have gone to Canada and teams that we talked to, there's some really good competition."

He also added that the trip would happen during the third week, which means he'll have the five freshmen on campus. Not only will the three games help accelerate the team's development, but the coaches will also get extra practice time.

"We'll have about five or ten practices prior to going to play in that game in Canada so we're excited about that."

The conversation about Alabama's trip to Canada begins at the 10:05 mark in the video above.
