Tuscaloosa Family Does Almost 3,000 Burpees for Local Charity
Tuscaloosa's Anna "MomStrong" Arsenault has made raising her children healthy and with a warm heart a priority in her life.
A sponsored athlete and obstacle course champion, Arsenault is always challenging her mind and body and her four kids seem to be following her lead.
When her children came to her wanting to do something to give back, the Arsenault family quickly came up with an idea to raise money by doing burpees for four hours with all donations going to the newly formed not-for-profit Angel's Hope.
Angel's Hope was the brainchild of Hillcrest teen Angel Eaton. The idea came to her while going through her battle with cancer. Unfortunately Angel didn't win her fight but she left friends and family a notebook full of ideas on how to help area children living with cancer forget about their struggle through elaborately planned parties and by collecting food, gift cards and toiletry items for the hematology/oncology unit at Children's of Alabama.
Anna along with Jack, Josie, Avery and Millie took turns doing one of the most exhausting core exercises in the world for four hours in the parking lot of Wagner's Run/Walk in Midtown Village. With the event, the Arsenaults raised over $300 for Angel's Hope but most importantly, learned a lesson in being selfless when it come to others less fortunate.
WVUA23 covered the story on the morning of December 17th.
