This Girl Is Polishing the Beauty World with a Great Cause
I am introducing you to Lola, who is amazing! At eight years old, she operates her very own business. So, you know I absolutely love that because that is some serious Girl Power. On top of that, she is completely adorable. Her smile is pure radiance.
I discovered Lola on Instagram @Lolamariepolish through a radio friend who reposted her business to show his support. I was drawn to her nail polish line because of the beautiful array of colors. The more I swiped through the IG pictures, I discovered that this was a young beauty with a vision. Apparently, Lola and I have something in common because her mom let me know that “she has been in love with nail polish since she was 3 when I took her to get her first manicure.” I love manicures as well and have an insane amount of nail polishes.
In talking with Lola’s mom, she let me know that Lola was born with Spina Bifida and is in a wheelchair. According to the Mayo Clinic, Spina Bifida is “a birth defect that occurs when the spine and spinal cord don't form properly.” There are three different types “spina bifida occulta, myelomeningocele, or the very rare type meningocele.”
I can’t wait to purchase my very own Lola Marie polish. Be sure to check out her polishes that Lola handcrafts because they are “10 free, vegan, cruelty - free, kid and adult-friendly. So moms can wear them too!” Click here to check them out. Also, Lola has super cute accessories, too, that she personally picks out. In addition, to getting some incredible products, you are helping Lola achieve her dreams because “proceeds from the sales are going towards the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van to meet Lola's needs.”
I always love to know what motivates people to create their businesses. Lola Marie polish was developed as a way to focus Lola on things that makes her happy. Her mom told me that “as many families, 2020 has been a tough year. In January 2020, Lola was verbally and physically attacked at school by a group of bullies for being different.” My heart was broken when I learned of this news. Kids can be so cruel but talk about turning a negative into a positive. I totally support that!
Let’s help Lola Marie get a wheelchair accessible van.
