The MDB Takes the Field in Tuscaloosa, Alabama This Week

Let's be real here folks. Football season is basically here and things are kicking off soon. Especially on the football field.

Ok let's be real here, for me it's the band field. And wouldn't you know it, the best band in the SEC is taking the field, unofficially, for a performance this weekend!

Yes indeed, the MDB is doing a preview show for anyone who wants to see what the band will be performing for their first show. It's always exciting to see what the band will bring out for this first show.

Even as an alumni, and with my father and I being involved with the Friends of the MDB, I'm not privy to what the first show will be. Which is kind of sad, but also exciting at the same time.

What's even cooler though is that the band will be selling Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Merchandise. If you haven't heard, the MDB will be stepping off in the Parade this year. Last year, due to COVID, the band was unable to go, but this year it's all systems go.

Honestly though, it'll be weird to have nobody in the Paradise family or extended Paradise family marching in the group this year. It's hard to believe, but for the past ten years someone has represented the family in the band, but that streak is over.

Ah well, it's ok. As long as I can still see the band perform during gamedays it's not all bad. Plus Thanksgiving morning with the MDB on my TV? That'll work!
