A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree robbery after he allegedly shot a man in the leg last week during a robbery at Sumner's Grocery in Holt.

Lt. Jack Kennedy, the assistant commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said on September 4th around 8:30 p.m., two people robbed a man at the grocery store and as the victim attempted to flee the scene, he was shot in the leg.

The VCU has been investigating witnesses and collecting evidence since the shooting, and Tuesday morning the Northport Police Department arrested 19-year-old Keron Jackson in connection with the shooting.

Jackson was charged with attempted murder and first-degree robbery, and was booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a combined $120,000 bond.

Kennedy said Jackson was previously known to law enforcement his release on several other criminal cases has been revoked based on the new charges filed Tuesday.

Kennedy said the VCU will continue to investigate this robbery and seek out the other suspects believed to have been involved.
