UPDATE (7 p.m.): The interstate is cleared.
Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa’s traffic reporter Captain Ray has received word that a small plane was forced to land on the interstate earlier this afternoon.
The aircraft landed safely on I-20 westbound near mile marker 69. State troopers have reported no injuries thus far. Reports indicate that it was a technical difficulty that triggered the landing.
If possible, try to avoid the area until first responders can clear the scene. Troopers say the ETA to clear the area is 8:30 p.m.
