Looking for a way to get active, have some fun, and benefit an awesome cause? Make plans to attend the Derby Dash 5K Sunday, February 26th!

The University of Alabama's Iota Iota Chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity is hosting the race, and 100% of the proceeds benefit our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital, Children's of Alabama. It's part of the fraternity's annual Derby Days, a special week the fraternity devotes to giving back to the community.

The Derby Days 5K will begin and end at the Sigma Chi house, located at 180 University Boulevard. The race has a prompt 8:00 a.m. start time, and participants are encouraged to arrive early for check-in.

You can register for the race by visiting the official Derby Days 5K entry page HERE. It's $15 to sign up before February 1, 2017. The cost is $20 after February 1 or $25 the day of the race. Again, all proceeds benefit Children's Hospital in Birmingham.

The event is worth one Greek point for UA students, and sororities who participate are eligible to earn Derby Days points as well. For more info, check out the official Derby Days 5K Facebook event page HERE.
