Short-Staffing Leads City to Shift Recycling Pickup Schedule

The city of Tuscaloosa announced Wednesday that it will temporarily shift its recycling pickup schedule.
The change comes as a result of staff shortages brought on by Environmental Services employees missing work due to COVID-19 complications. The new system will go into effect tomorrow, so those who expect Thursday recycling pickup should put their bins out on Friday, Dec. 11 instead of the 10th.
For now, some Thursday recycling routes will move to Friday pickup. The city posted a tweet with maps reflecting the change. See below:
