Severe thunderstorms are once again in the forecast for our area.  The National Weather Service in Birmingham has placed most of West Alabama in the "Slight" risk area for storms from 2 p.m. this afternoon through 10 p.m. tonight.

Primary threats from these storms will be damaging winds of up to 60 miles an hour and quarter size hail. Areas south of Interstate 20/59 have been designated as a "marginal" risk, and the threat of severe weather there is less likely but cannot be ruled out.
