The SEC announced today that the Alabama Crimson Tide (18-6, 13-2) will play the Georgia Bulldogs (14-9, 7-9) in Athens on Saturday March 6 at 1 p.m. CT. The Crimson Tide has this game added to its schedule due to the postponement of its trip to Texas A&M on Feb. 18.

Alabama sits in first place in the SEC and will look to clinch the league championship prior to its trip to Athens, however Alabama beat Georgia handily in its first matchup 115-82. Alabama will now close out its regular season with Georgia instead on Auburn as previously scheduled.

In the first matchup the Crimson Tide made 18 3-point shots while shooting 60% from behind the arc. Alabama set a program record for points in an SEC game with 115. The Tide was led in scoring by Herb Jones who notched a career high 21 points in the contest.

Alabama is enjoying its most successful basketball season in recent memory but was defeated last night by No. 20 Arkansas. The Tide is scheduled to conclude its season with Mississippi State, Auburn and Georgia, three teams in the bottom-half of the SEC standings could allow Alabama to regain momentum heading into tournament time.

The new contest is scheduled to be televised on CBS and can be heard on our sister station on 95.3 The Bear.
