Saturday Construction and Closures in Tuscaloosa
The Alabama Department of Transportation sent out two releases Monday and Tuesday informing of more construction in Tuscaloosa beginning the morning of Saturday May 9.
Monday's release says the final set of girders will be set on Interstate 20/59. Skyland Blvd. will be closed in both directions directly under the bridge from 3 a.m. until 8 a.m. The right lane of westbound I-20/59 will also be closed from 4 a.m. until 8 a.m.
ALDOT's Tuesday release says contractors plan to pave the right lane of Lurleen B Wallace Blvd. Northbound Saturday as well. The right lane and "various lane closures" will begin May 9 at 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Construction in this area includes the sidewalk completion, landscaping and the removal of old traffic signal bases.
