Tuscaloosa Rotary Club Donates $20,000 for All-Inclusive Mason’s Place Playground
The PARA Foundation accepted a $20,000 donation from the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club that will be used to help expand Mason's Place, an all-inclusive playground for children.
The donation is just the first part of the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club's pledge to donate $50,000 to support the project.
Tony Johnson, a Rotary Club member who also serves on the board of directors of the Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority said the partnership between the two organizations is important and will help allow all children the ability to play together.
"We realized while looking at the all-inclusive park that one section of our children oftentimes, in our community, are being left out," Johnson said. "We know that the group was those who have disabilities. This very important group should be appointed the same opportunity that every child has the right to. With this park, all children will be able to come together and do what children do: play, simply play."
