The 2019 non-conference schedule for Alabama is almost complete.

FBSchedules.com reports the Crimson Tide will pay New Mexico State $1.7 million for a game in Bryant-Denny Stadium on September 7. The matchup will be the first between the two schools in football. The Aggies currently play in the Sun Belt Conference but will become an Independent after the 2017 season.

With the agreement, Alabama couldn't have added an easier opponent than New Mexico State. If you're looking for the Crimson Tide's polar opposite, this might just be it.

In 118 seasons of existence, New Mexico State has appeared in just three bowl games and the last came more than 50 years ago (1960). To put that into perspective, Bear Bryant had just finished his fourth season in Tuscaloosa and hadn't even won his first national championship as head coach.

Recent years haven't been any better for the Aggies. The team's last winning record was a 7-5 campaign in 2002 and it can only claim one other winning season since 1993.

If that's not evidence enough that these two programs aren't even in the same stratosphere, here's one more stat for you. Over the past 11 seasons, New Mexico State won 28 games. That's the same number of victories as Alabama rolled up in 2015 and 2016.

Regardless of the past, these two programs will square off in 2019. That schedule also includes a neutral-site game against Duke and a home game against Southern Miss. Alabama has one more open date before the schedule is complete.
