Nick Saban dropped a name, image and likeness bomb on the college football world ahead of his SEC Media Days 2021 appearance in Hoover, Al.

According to Chris Hummer of 247Sports Saban spent time talking to the Texas High School Coaches Association convention in San Antonio on Tuesday. While there he reportedly said new presumed starting quarterback Bryce Young is "approaching ungodly numbers" while profiting off the new Name, Image and Likeness policy

"Our quarterback has already approached ungodly numbers, and he hasn't even played yet. If I told you what it is, it's almost 7-figures," said Saban according to Hummer.

Quarterback Bryce Young signed with Creative Arts Agency (CAA) in early July to help him navigate the Name, Image and Likeness-era and not long after the former 5-star from California announced a deal with Cashapp.

Young only played in limited action in 2020 behind Heisman Trophy-finalist Mac Jones. Young passed for 156 yards and one touchdown in mop up duty for the national champions.

Saban's statements permeated SEC Media Days Tuesday and shocked Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.

“Wow. That number blew me away,” Kiffin said. “You didn’t prepare me for that. That’s amazing. A million dollars and he hasn’t started a game yet. I don’t even know how to respond to that.”

Young enters the season with high expectations despite limited playing time last season. He will have one of the most talented offenses around him and is one of the preseason favorites for the Heisman Trophy.
