New Railroad Overpass Could Connect 15th Street and Paul W. Bryant Drive
Tuscaloosa residents and Alabama fans could soon have a new route in and out of campus if a new plan is approved by the University of Alabama Board of Trustees.
The proposal calls for a road to connect Lancaster Road off 15th Street with 2nd Avenue on campus through the parking lot between Coleman Coliseum and the School of Law. The road will allow for vehicle and pedestrian traffic over the railroad tracks that run alongside the athletic complex.
Take a look at the map below to see exactly where it would take place.
The project would have a budget of $13.8 million and you can get more details from The Tuscaloosa News.
The new route could provide significant help alleviating traffic on football and basketball gamedays as fans travel to campus. Plus, this location could also give residents around Forest Lake easier access to campus by foot.
