Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts completed one of the most successful freshman seasons for anyone at his position in 2016, but that final game still sticks with him.

The Crimson Tide fell just one second short of a perfect 15-0 season and a second-consecutive national championship. Alabama's heartbreaking loss to Clemson in January serves as motivation for Hurts as he prepares for his sophomore campaign. We found out just how much it motivates him when ESPN's Laura Rutledge tweeted this before the A-Day game.

Following Hurts' 301-yard passing performance on Saturday, he was asked about the picture on his phone.

"Everytime I unlock (the phone), I see it," Hurts said it. "It's kind of a reminder. It kinda humbles me and keeps me motivated."

Just how much can the 2016 SEC Offensive Player of the Year improve from a year ago? If motivation is any indication, special things could be in store.
