Jalen Hurts Pays Off Bet By Wearing an Auburn Jersey but Gets the Last Laugh
Back in November, Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts made a bet with NBA on TNT's Charles Barkley about the outcome of the Iron Bowl.
The SEC West title was on the line when No. 1 Alabama traveled to No. 6 Auburn and Barkley agreed to wear a Bama jersey on TV if his team lost but Hurts had to wear a Tigers jersey around campus if the Tide lost. Auburn handed Alabama its first and only loss of the season, 26-14, and earned a trip to the SEC Championship.
Meanwhile, Alabama sat back and waited for the College Football Playoff rankings. Nick Saban's team earned the 4-seed and would go on to win its 17th national championship. The Tigers lost in the Sugar Bowl to Central Florida.
More than three months later, Hurts made good on the bet and created a video to prove it. The Alabama football accounted posted it to social media on Thursday and it went viral immediately. Check out the video and make sure you stick around until the end.
