UA has not said if the fire damaged the building and said it will remain closed as firefighters respond and clear smoke from the area.
The Student Center is a central hub for those studying at the Capstone and includes seven dining Centers including Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and more.
UPDATE: The University has re-opened the buidling.
WBRC's Christina Chambers was inside the Student Center at the time of the incident and shared video of the conflagration, which appears to have been contained to a purse.
