New Store Opening in Tuscaloosa Shopping Center on Black Friday

A new store is opening this week in Tuscaloosa in time to welcome the rush of shoppers headed to Midtown Village on Black Friday.

The new store, Buff City Soap, will open between Tazikis Mediterranean restaurant and Chip Cookie Co. under Planet Fitness in Midtown.

Buff City began a decade ago in Memphis, Tennessee. They specialize in making all-natural, plant-based soap, which is crafted without parabens, phthalates or detergents.

The seasonal Holly-Day soap, for example, is advertised as smelling like sugar cookies at Christmas and is made with lemon, honey, pomegranate, almond, & vanilla.

The best-selling Narcissist soap purports to smell like "peachwood & me time" and features patchouli, sandalwood, raspberry and peach

They also offer highly popular plant-derived laundry soaps.

The brand has exploded in popularity and opened more than 250 stores in over 30 states on a mission to see that number grow to 1,000. 

In a post on social media, the company said they will open in Midtown Village this Friday, Black Friday, at 10 a.m. with sales to celebrate the occasion.
