Police are investigating a pair of robberies at Dollar General convenience stores in Tuscaloosa County this weekend.

Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, told the Thread that officers were called to the Dollar General on University Boulevard in Five Points around 10 p.m. Saturday night, shortly after the store closed.

Taylor said the store was robbed by a suspect who appeared to have a gun, but did not point it at anyone and an investigation is ongoing.

Hours later, a second store was allegedly robbed.

Deputy Jessica McDaniel, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's office, told the Thread that deputies were called to the Dollar General at 13870 Highway 69 South around 7 a.m. Sunday.

McDaniel said the store was robbed and an investigation is ongoing.
