A plane has crashed into a tributary creek feeding the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa County near Adger.

Sergeant Josh Hastings, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, said a plane is down off in water off Bankhead Road east of Adger.

Hastings could not immediately confirm the size of the plane but said early reports indicate it is a small craft.

Hastings said TCSO, medical responders, state police, the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service and volunteer firefighters are moving to the scene, which seems to be near Corps of Engineers land and the Bankhead Dam and Hydroelectric Plant,

Holly Whigham, a spokeswoman for the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service said they can confirm an aircraft is down and they are sending their dive team, water rescue team, drone pilots and more to the scene.
