An Amazing Re-enactment

One of the most iconic figures from this story has been Reggie Ray, the man who fought with a chair during the brawl. The 42-year-old turned himself in earlier this month, but that hasn't kept his role in the incident from taking center stage.

In response to his detainment, Ray's lawyer Lee Merritt started a GoFundMe. In the fundraiser's description, Merritt said donations would be used to "offset the cost of certain damages incurred by my client and others."

Merritt said these damages include "medical bills, lost wages/earnings, professional services, travel, lodging, and expenses."

As of Tuesday morning, August 22, the fundraiser had raised $294,240. Merritt also posted on social media, revealing that Ray had been released from jail.

"The criminal charges involved amount to no more than misdemeanors," said Ray's lawyer, "if outright dismissal is not warranted."

Merritt reported that Ray was in good spirits, despite receiving a speeding ticket on his way home. What a turn of events.
