Former Alabama Running Back Lands New Job
Former Alabama running back Roy Upchurch has landed a new job.
Dora High School in Dora, Ala., announced that Upchurch will be teaching science and coaching both football and track.
"Dora High School is pleased to welcome Roy Upchurch to our faculty to teach in the area of Science," said Dora High School. "Coach Upchurch played running back on the 2009 National Championship team at The University of Alabama and will be coaching football as well as track. Most recently he coached at Pinson Valley High School in Jefferson County. We are excited to have him at Dora High School and extend him a big BULLDOG —- welcome to the family!!"
The former national champion played four seasons at the Capstone (2006-09), recording 168 rushing attempts for 923 yards and nine touchdowns, as well as 28 receptions for 224 yards and one touchdown.
He is most well-known for his game-winning touchdown in the 2009 Iron Bowl, scoring on a four-yard reception with 1:25 remaining in the game to put Alabama up 26-21 and keep the team undefeated.
