The Alabama Crimson Tide basketball season ended in disappointment on Friday with a loss in the Sweet 16 to San Diego State. The Tide now turns to the offseason as the program must hire two new assistant coaches and must manage its roster effectively.

According Blake Byler of The Crimson White, Alabama guard Nimari Burnett has opted to enter the transfer portal.

Burnett transferred to Tuscaloosa by way of Texas Tech after the 2021 season. Unfortunately the Chicago native to his ACL in September and missed all of the 2022 season.

The former McDonalds All-American played in 25 games this past year and started in eight. He missed some time in the middle of the season with a wrist injury but was able to come back and contribute off the bench. Burnett averaged 5.5 points and two rebounds per game for the Crimson Tide this past season.

Burnett marks the first transferee off the 2022-23 Alabama roster.
