Holloway will be suspended for the first three exhibition games (Furman, Oct. 8, Ole Miss, Oct. 15, and Auburn, Oct. 22), the first two games of the regular season (Sam Houston, Nov. 3, and Arkansas State (Nov. 6). He will be reinstated when Alabama plays Oakland in Coleman Coliseum on Monday, Nov. 9.

Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne provided a quote to AL.com on Holloway's suspension: "We were disappointed by the choices Aden made, but we have been encouraged by the way he has responded."

Holloway was arrested in March after Alabama's SEC Tournament loss to Ole Miss and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp. Following his arrest, he entered a second-chance program, where he had to:

  • Pay all court-ordered sums at $150 per month
  • Complete 50 hours of community service
  • Pass random drug/alcohol screenings
  • Attend classes of education and participate in an exit interview
  • Submit a meaningful letter acknowledging responsibility for the charged criminal act

In September, Holloway completed his second-chance program, and the charges brought against him were dismissed.

Alabama will hold its first of three exhibition games on Thursday, October 8, in Coleman Coliseum against Furman. Alabama will open the regular season against Sam Houston in Coleman Coliseum on Tuesday, November 3.
