I Am Resigning From The Bear to Coach at Auburn
OK- not really.
But I’d sure like to.
Bryan Harsin’s unstoppable Tigers were stopped this week... AGAIN.
This time by Georgia. (Surprise) Final Score: 42- 10, UGA
(A REAL NAIL BITER – as in 'SHOULD WE LEAVE NOW TO BEAT THE TRAFFIC or STAY AND BE HUMILIATED??')
Lots of Auburn fans chose the latter-
Now, talk of Bryan Harsin’s firing is RAMPANT.
So, what happens when the “LOVELIEST VILLAGE THAT IS PLAIN“ decides to “Go in another direction?”
Well–
He gets paid, big bucks.
So, what is his motivation to win games?
Tommy Tuberville got around $6 million when they sent his packing in ‘08.
When they canned Gene Chizik in 2012, he made nearly $1 million in his buyout.
Gus Malzahn walked away (or probably ran) with $21.5 M
AND……
If (and when) Harsin gets his walking papers, he will get bank.
The way his contract is set up, he stands to make over 17 MILLION in his payout - about 70% of what's left on his contract that runs through 2025.
So, let’s do some math:
Since Nick Saban has been at UA, Auburn has spent almost $50 MILLION ON FAILED COACHES.
They coulda had a Nick Saban for that kinda money.
