Holiday Time In Huntsville, Alabama

The holidays are a great time to explore the great state of Alabama.  Make plans to visit Huntsville, Alabama, for some holiday cheer.  It’s an easy drive from our area to North Alabama.  I don’t know about you, but Christmas lights totally put me in a festive mood!  The smell of pine Christmas Trees, Hot Chocolate, and Christmas Cookies are in my future as I take a road trip to Huntsville, Alabama.

Huntsville Botanical Garden and the Galaxy of Lights

 

According to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens website for driving nights, you can “See Santa soar over a delightful winter village, nursery rhyme characters spring to life, traditional holiday scenes, and much more. Galaxy of Lights is the perfect holiday treat for the young and young at heart.

Walking nights are November 15-18 and 21-26

Driving nights are November 29th – January 4th (except for December 2nd and 3rd)

Huntsville’s Tinsel Trail

According to Huntsville’s Tinsel Trail website, it is the 9th year, and they “anticipate over 300 trees will decorate the park for the holiday season. Intended to promote community, each tree is sponsored by a local corporation, group, or family, and can be decorated by its sponsor or another organization designated by the sponsor.”  You can visit Tinsel Trail at Big Spring Park in Downtown Huntsville from November 29th until January 1st.   It’s open to the public daily until midnight, and the trees are lit from dusk until midnight.
