9 Things To Do in Tuscaloosa and Our Area This Weekend
It's the first weekend of Spring and that means there is a lot going on this weekend. Here are some of the things happening around Tuscaloosa on Saturday and Sunday.
*The Tuscaloosa Half Marathon and the Mayors Cup races start at 7:30 Saturday morning. They will start in Government Plaza downtown with lots of activities before and after the race for runners and non-runners.
*New parents, be sure to check out BabyPalooza, a baby and maternity expo at the Northport Civic Center. Doors open at 10am and admission is free, but pre-register ahead of time to take advantage of all the of giveaways, games, and demonstrations.
* The 4th Annual Arc of Tuscaloosa Fire Tuck Pull is Saturday at 10am at University Mall. Teams will pull a nearly 44,000-pound fire truck a distance of 50 feet as fast as they can with proceeds going to help adults across the Tuscaloosa area who have intellectual disabilities and developmental disorders, such as Down syndrome or autism . The pull is free and open to the public.
*Brantley Gilbert kicks off the 2018 season at the Tuscaloosa Ampitheater Saturday night with special guests Aaron Lewis and Josh Phillips.
*Springfest at Midtown Village is Saturday from 11am-3pm with balloon twisters, bounce house and an Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny for children ages 3-10.
*Egg the City, featuring 50,000 eggs, will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at the track at Tuscaloosa County High School. Admission is free and will include bounce houses, slides, carnival games, a photo booth, face painting, train rides, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones.
*A community Easter egg hunt with 12,000 eggs, food, games and an inflatable bounce house will be held at University Place Elementary from 11am-1pm Saturday.
*Community Easter egg hunt at Duncanville Park Saturday from 11am-1pm with bouncy houses, foood and more.
*The Alabama Panhellenic Association will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt for the Tuscaloosa community on the front lawn of the President’s Mansion Sunday, March 25. The event is organized for children 12 and younger and is free to the public. The hunt will begin at 2 p.m. and last until 4 p.m., or until the last egg is found.
