The block party is part of the Friday Night Live youth program series geared toward the youth ages 6-17.

The most important thing is we want the youth to come and have a good time. This is also an opportunity for both Shelton State and PARA to build healthy and lasting relationships with our community partners," said Joseph Eatmon. Shelton State's Dean of Community Relations.

When asked about the motivation for creating an event like this, Eatmon said, "We wanted to give the kids a safe space as the summer comes to an end. I hope to continue this type of event past the summer months."

Eatmon believes having a safe space for the kids is important. "I think it’s so important, especially with all our youth are experiencing that they have a safe space they can just come to relax and have a good time."

Townsquare Media will serve as a drop-off site for school supplies to be donated to residents in Hay Court.

All school supplies are needed.

You can drop off school supplies to Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa located at 142 Skyland Blv East, on weekdays from 9a-6p.
