Gregg Allman Is at Home Resting, Not in Hospice
Gregg Allman insists he's not currently in hospice, despite rumors saying as such. But he is resting at home, due to doctor's orders.
The rocker writes on Facebook:
"I just wanted y’all to know that I’m currently home in Savannah resting on my doctor’s orders. I want to thank you for all the love that you are sending. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Keep Rockin.'"
A statement on Allman's website explains that he will not be touring in 2017 — fans who have purchased tickets to see him can seek a refund from the original ticketing outlet. The statement offers no further explanation for the cancelations, which led to fans and press speculating on the rocker's condition.
Allman has suffered through many health problems over the past few years. He previously canceled a string of shows in 2016 after suffering from pneumonia, and he was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2007. The iconic musician also underwent a liver transplant in 2010, and had lung surgery in 2012 after an infection forced him to cut short a European tour.
Country fans and artists alike have been sending their best wishes to Allman. On Monday (April 24), Travis Tritt shared prayers for the singer, writing on Twitter: "Sending up prayers for my friend @GreggAllman. Praying for healing and a restoration of your health, my friend. God bless you!"
