The University of Alabama will have a new residence hall on campus this August. The newly built Tutwiler Hall will have 1,284 beds for students.

Earlier this month, it was announced that The University of Alabama made plans to demolish the current standing 13-story Tutwiler Hall on July 4th.

In August, a much newer version of Tutwiler Hall will be open for students to enjoy in the upcoming school year.

The project had a budget set for close to 150 million and is the third residence hall built on campus over a 100-year time span.  The new Tutwiler Hall will feature a storm shelter that doubles as a multi-purpose room, fitness amenities, and more intimate community-style living and study spaces.
