Car Drives into Crowd at Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade, Injures 12 High School Students
Several people were injured this morning in Gulf Shores when a car that was part of a parade suddenly accelerated.
A spokesperson for the city of Gulf Shores said that the vehicle was in the parade procession behind a high school marching band.
Gulf Shores television station FOX 10 has reported that 12 members of the Gulf Shores marching band ranging from ages 12 to 17 have been transported to area hospitals. Four of them are in critical condition.
The parade has been cancelled and the route closed while the investigation continues. The Gulf Shores Police Department has asked that anyone with information, pictures, or video from the parade to contact them.
