The love and appreciation for The University of Alabama’s mascot “Big Al” runs deep. Roll Tide fans cherish Big Al. The tradition of Big Al dates back to the 1979 Sugar Bowl. This is when “Alabama presented the Big Al elephant mascot for the first time. However, the University had been associated with the elephant since the 1930 season,” according to the UA Division of Student Life A-Book.

Big Al took over in a major way in 2021. He is most definitely booked and busy. However, always takes time to make a fan smile and it’s all captured on Instagram.

Here are some of my favorite 2021 Big Al moments.
